Tshirt Quilt FAQ

I need my quilt completed for a particular event, when should I get the shirts to you?

Expect for quilts to be completed roughly 8-9 weeks after I get the tshirts in my hands & the $100 deposit is paid. Christmas and graduation are typically very busy so if you’re looking at gifting for these events PLEASE plan ahead!

How should I prepare my shirts for you?

Please wash your shirts in a fragrance-free detergent and dry without dryer sheets. Fold them and put them in a bag (trash bag is fine).  Please put a piece of paper inside the bag with your shirts with your first and last name, phone number, and the date your need your finished quilt by

Can I cut the shirts myself and save some time/money?

No. Do not cut the shirts yourself. This can actually create more work for me if you make a mistake and shirts aren't cut to the same sizes. Folks often forget about seam allowance needs as well and will be disappointed if they find that the printed part of the shirt is cut off in the sewing process. If you deliver shirts that have been cut, you will forfeit your deposit, and your shirts will be made available for pick up.

What should I expect to spend?

Tshirt quilts are handmade one-of-a-kind item and are priced accordingly. The base price for a tshirt quilt is $420. The price goes up from there based on several factors included in the inquiry form!

I'm not local to KC but I would love to have you make my quilt, what is the process for that?

Please fill out the inquiry form! You will pay to ship the shirts to me (large flat rate USPS shipping boxes are the best option for cost). Additionally, the cost for me to ship the completed quilt back to you will be included on the final invoice. NOTE: I will not use minky backing for a mailed quilt! They're lovely, but too bulky to be cost effective for shipping.

How big can I expect my quilt to be when it's done?

Quilts finish at least 60" x 68" and can be a bit larger if you choose to add border fabric surrounding the tshirts.
